Michael's background includes fifteen years of venture capital and
four years of startup operations experience. Most of Michael's venture
capital career was spent with Advent International, in its London
and Boston offices. His start-up experience included work in product
management, marketing and strategy with Silknet Software (now Kana Communications), a software development company in Manchester, NH.
Prior to Silknet, Michael was General Manager of Living Balance,
a direct mail and eCommerce start-up that was part of Oxford Health
Plans' Alternative Medicine Division.
Michael earned his BS
Finance from Babson College and his MBA from the University of Virginia's
Darden School.and is on the Advisory Board of the Tayloe Murphy Center at Darden, Michael is also on the advisory boards of the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund's Flexible Capital Fund, Mainebiz Momentum, and the Entrepreneurs Foundation of New Hampshire.
Michael is presently a Director of NanoComp Technologies Inc and Chair of The
Rustic Crust. Michael is also on the Board of Directors of the
Merriconeag Waldorf School in Freeport, Maine.
Jennifer K. Walker,

Jen administers the day-to-day operations of the Fund. Most
recently, Jen worked with Wintergreen Financial Group, a local financial
services/broker dealer firm. Prior to joining Wintergreen, she managed
the operational affairs at Masthead Venture Partners, a Portland/Boston-based
early-stage venture capital firm focusing on information technology
and biotechnology investments.
Jen holds a BA in English
from the University of Maine. She has been involved in the National
Youth Sports Program, a comprehensive educational and sports
program which teaches vital life skills to economically disadvantaged
children; is the President of The Greenwood Club, an educational
and sports alumni and fundraising organization; and is on the Board of the University of Maine Swimming & Diving Endowment Fund. Additionally,
she is a volunteer for the Maine Mentor Program, and is the coordinator
of a local natural food cooperative.
